The longest running radio programme is Grand Ole Opry, broadcast on WSM Radio in Nashville, Tennessee, USA, since 28 November 1925, a total of 79 years.

The show is a weekly country music programme which goes out on Saturday nights. The programme began life as 'WSM Barn Dance' in the fifth floor radio station studio of the National Life & Accident Insurance Company in Nashville. In September 2004, the show teamed up with a presenting sponsor for the first time and is now know as the Grand Ole Opry presented by Cracker Barrel.

Longest running weekly radio programme - same host
The longest-running radio programme by the same host is Folksong Festival hosted by Oscar Brand (Canada, b 7 February 1920) which was first broadcast on 9 December 1945 on WNYC Radio and continues to do so today airing on Saturday evenings from 10-11pm on AM 820.
