Great Golfers

The Professional Golfers Association was formed on this day in 1916. A 200-year-old Scottish putter sold for £106,000 ($150,000) at Christie's in Glasgow on 7 Jul 1998. It was bought by Titus Kendall, a London antique dealer, on behalf of Jaime Ortíz Patiño, a Bolivian millionaire who will display it at the Valderrama Golf Club which he owns in Southern Spain.
